What is a ForcePack?

Our high-quality, affordable, ready-to-play plastic miniatures ForcePacks are the heart and soul of Battletech. Each re-imagined miniature retains the core of each ‘Mech’s identity grounded in the original artist expression and lore we all love, carefully updated with modern aesthetics.

Nearly thirty ForcePacks have been released in the last three years, selling well over half-a-million copies. The Mercenaries Kickstarter unleashes over a dozen more ForcePacks, including Inner Sphere Lances and Clan Stars, and introduces a slew of the most common vehicles to bring Battlefield Support to your ‘Mech’s aid.

In the $1 Million stretch goal graphic, there are two darkened figures. What are they?

The “Timber Wolf W” and “Loki Mk II Prime” STLs are in the process of being finalized (literally the last two of the entire campaign), but won’t make it before we launch. Once that’s been finalized after AdeptiCon, that will be updated.

Can I increase my Pledge Level? Can I purchase more add-ons after the campaign ends?

We’re calling this one a twofer. Yes, to both! BackerKit allows you to increase your pledge amount during the post-campaign setting, as well as adjust your backer reward level and add-ons.

How much will Shipping cost?

Shipping and local taxes will be charged after the Kickstarter has ended, as its own dedicated shipping survey. We are using at least six local hubs around the world:United States, Canada, United Kingdom, European Union, Australia, and Asia. We expect to offer “local shipping rates” to over 90% of countries, worldwide. Catalyst will cover all freight, import duties, and handling fees. Backers will be responsible for local delivery and VAT.

Catalyst will continue to work on this in order to provide the very best service possible at a value to our backers. When we have more detailed shipping estimates, they will be provided.

How do I select Add-ons?

If you want to add-on to your pledge, there are two ways.

First, when backing. select the pledge level you want. Then, KS should ask you to select a total pledge amount. You can upgrade this amount for anything from the ADD-ON list right then. If you’ve already pledged, you can go to “manage my pledge” and then over pledge by any amount. You can over pledge for more than one pledge level, for individual add-ons, or just to cover your eventual shipping costs.

After the campaign we’ll send you access to our pledge manager survey, where you will verify everything you want. You can also add more at that time, in case you missed an add-on or in case you need to wait for some time to go by to safely budget for what you want. Be smart and be safe!

What is BattleTech: Aces?

Battletech: Aces lets you play Alpha Strike solo or cooperatively against an AI opponent. Each unit you wish the AI to control is assigned a deck of cards based on its battlefield Role, and will use these cards to make decisions about when to act, where to move, and what to shoot at.

At this stage, the rules and cards PDF is designed for use directly with the Alpha Strike box set. That is the playtesting that this Open Beta is associated with.

We’re incredibly excited to bring this new way to experience Battletech to our great community, and look forward to your feedback. You will be emailed a link to the playtest documents once you have back the Kickstarter; all of the details surrounding how and when to turn in your feedback are covered in that document.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
